I consider myself an athlete. Growing up, sports came naturally to me. I enjoyed them, excelled at them, and found what felt like a teenage career in them. If you played high school sports, you can certainly attest to this. If you played for club teams while also playing for your school, you definitely know the level of commitment you had for the game. But like many high school athletes, my career ended abruptly and was replaced with a lot of time, outside of college or work, to find self motivation. I pride myself, no matter where I’m at in my life, at making fitness a top priority. I’ve learned lifelong sports as an adult, including tennis. I love my local yoga studio. I thrive in my HIIT classes and at-home strength and conditioning workouts. And I’m a Peloton junkie. But there’s one thing I absolutely can’t live without when it comes to exercising: a smart watch.

I’ve always had a competitive edge, and a smart watch keeps me on my toes. I love checking my time, mileage, calories burned, heart rate and more. There are a lot of options out there. There are some designed for function, others designed for fashion, and many offering both. Many of the most sought after brands come with a hefty price tag, however. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly smart watch to put on your radar, consider YoYoFit

The YoYoFit 1.4" Full Touch Screen Smart Watch features a sleek look similar to competitive brands on the market. The design is perfectly sized to look delicate on your hand while providing you a large enough touchscreen to easily use and view your stats.

As with most smart watches I’ve tested out, the screen is strong and durable enough to withstand daily wear without cracking or scratching. I also love that you can personalize the interface through the “Da Fit” app. The super soft straps on the smart watch are thinner than typical brands, which makes for a nice, inconspicuous fit. The pink color is an underwhelming hue that goes with my femininity.

While design is important to me, the smart watch has plenty of other standout features not to be missed. YoYoFit will track your activity all day long in the background, which I love, since even when I’m not working out, I love to check in on daily stats regarding my steps, heart rate and overall calorie burn. And as a traveler, it’s so satisfying to see how many miles I’ve clocked on foot after a day of exploring a new terrain!

I tend to leave jewelry on as a part of my active lifestyle, often forgetting to take it off when I go for a swim or take a shower. The YoYoFit smart watch is backed by an international standard rating of IP68. This means it can withstand dust, dirt and sand. It’s also capable of resistance to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters underwater for up to 30 minutes.

Battery power is another factor YoYoFit doesn’t skimp on. The smart watch features a 170mAh large battery, so with just two to three hours of charging, you can expect more than 10 days of usage.
