Why the Foton Pearled Candle Is the Only Candle You’ll Ever Need
I have a thing for candles. But who doesn’t? The rich hue of real fire flickering is so inviting. The flames create beautiful shadows that dance on the walls. The warmth of candles signifies comfort. Their soft, glowing radiance offers intimacy. Candles, undoubtedly, bring about an energy shift in any space. And it seems like they’re trendier than ever, with different scents, colors, shapes and sizes coming out like never before. But there’s one thing that drives me mad: how quickly they melt into oblivion. The Foton Pearled Candle changes that.
Foton is the creator of the unique patent-pending Pearled Candle product that is shaking up how candles are incorporated into home decor — and doing it in a sustainable way. Referred to as the luxury Dippin’ Dots of candles by Foton, the candle consists of 100 percent natural and vegan Foton pearls that can be poured into any container (including that old candle container that’s too pretty to toss out!). Insert one or more wicks into the Foton-filled container, then light it up.
Whereas you can only choose where to place wax candles throughout the home, Foton allows you the freedom to get creative with the container of your choice: whether that’s a tray, Mason jar, salad bowl, or even a Lazy Susan. Another fun option is to place flowers in a glass or vase, fill the glass three-quarters full with water, then fill with the Foton pearls and light a wick.
Sisters Sirli Luht and Heidi Stojanovic created Foton to tackle problems they saw with traditional candles:
Candles are prettiest when brand new, and get progressively less pretty each time they’re used.
Candles are wasteful, you can never melt it all the way, and end up having to toss the candle container (if you're someone who melts the leftover candle wax out of the container to recycle the glass, you're amazing...and a rare find!)
Candles are not meant to be enjoyed in small doses. Ever had a candle dig a hole in the center and not burn right after the first time?
I’ve tried out a lot of innovative products, but far too often do the ones that claim to be easy end up frustrating to figure out. Foton impresses. Even the directions inside the packaging make it clear that there’s no fuss here. Just pour the Foton Pearls into any container that's at least 3 inches wide to turn it into a candle. If you prefer something shallow like a platter, just cut the wick shorter to leave enough space under the wick for safety and to keep your platter safe.
So long as you ensure the wick doesn’t touch the bottom of your vessel of choice, you never have to worry about wax melting to it. When it’s time to blow out the candle, allow the wax to cool, then remove the solidified wax and toss out.
I had fun experimenting with pouring the pearls into different items around my home. One of my favorite creations was the candle coupes I created on my lazy Susan. I tied together some bunny tails and eucalyptus and placed between the glasses to top off the look. I think it makes for a unique centerpiece!
I also found a purpose for an adorable tray that I typically have accented with trinkets. I made a whole mood by adorning the tray with the Foton setup and decorating around it with small items like an Egyptian cat sculpture and a hand-painted stone heart. I plan on leaving the pearls in there, and just switching out the wicks when it’s time.
You can even add a few drops of an essential oil close to the wick before lighting it if you want to make it scented.
Not only is the Foton concept fun and different, but Foton offers unmatched sustainability in the candle game. All components and packaging materials have been carefully selected to offer an eco-friendly approach to incorporating candles into your home decor. The patent-pending product leaves nearly no leftovers, while packaging can be reused or recycled.
